Informa’s 2012 “Go Bananas” event raises over £77k for Cancer Prevention Charity
Go Bananas is an annual fundraising event staff globally take part in to raise money for World Cancer Research Fund. In its 6th year, Go Bananas raised £77,629 with staff taking part in a whole range of banana-themed activities – from fun runs to scavenger hunts to smoothie and bake sales.
Each year, Peter Rigby, Informa’s CEO, dons the fancy dress banana suit (with other brave employees doing likewise in other locations around the world!) for the cause, with employees challenged to “beat the banana” around the 3km course. The video below captures the day’s events in London’s Regent’s Park.
In total, almost 1,500 staff, along with family members, took part. In Singapore, the office partnered with a local school and it was great to have around 130 school children join staff in their fun run and fundraising efforts.
