My MD scoops Best Technology Award at the 2011 Hospital Build Awards
The winners for the 2011 Hospital Build Middle East Awards were announced at the Hospital Build Middle East Exhibition & Congress on Monday 13 June, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. My MD by Creative Zone won the award for the Best Technology Initiative, a new category introduced this year.
The 3rd Hospital Build Middle East Exhibition & Congress was officially inaugurated this morning by His Excellency Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, who was accompanied by senior government officials and organisers, Informa Exhibitions.
Hospital Build is the fastest-growing, global business-to-business platform where top-level decision makers from the Middle East’s healthcare construction and management industry can network with key players in hospital planning, design, construction, operations, management, supply and refurbishment.
The winners for the six award categories are as follows: Best Physical Environment – Al Seef Hospital, Kuwait; Best Sustainable Hospital Project – Al Jalila Children’s Hospital, UAE; Best Healing Environment – RAK Hospital, UAE; Best Hospital Design (Built) – International Medical Centre, KSA; Best Hospital Design (Future) – Bahrain Royal Maternity Hospital, Bahrain, and, of course, Best Technology Initiative – My MD, UAE.
As the healthcare industry thrives and grows there is a need to recognise and reward industry leaders and innovators. The judging panel, which included Ted Jacobs, president and founder of Ted Jacobs Engineering Group from the USA, Malek El Husseini, business development director, GE Healthcare Middle East, Kamil Eid, managing director, Ventures Healthcare, and Karen Reno, consultant, Joint Commission Resources Inc., examined more than 190 nominations submitted by healthcare facilities from around the Middle East region.
“Every year we see an increase in the number of submissions as well as improvement in terms of quality of the submissions,” said Mr El Husseini. “The newly introduced category for Best Technology Initiative witnessed a high number of submissions which highlights the creativity and innovation that the healthcare field will witness in the future.”
For the Best Technology Initiative category the judges looked at how nominated healthcare facilities utilised a new technology in ways that improve healthcare outcomes and reduce the diagnosis and treatment times. This new technology also needed to open the door for new ways to deal with patients to create an overall better patient experience.
Mr El Husseini commented on My MD, the winning submission for the Best Technology Initiative Award: “MY MD provides a wide range of information about healthcare services. It provides comprehensive information for its users and consequently makes their life easier. My MD also has good knowledge-based content which allows a maximum number of users to profit from the information posted.”
The Hospital Build Middle East Exhibition & Congress will continue on 14 and 15 June 2011, from 10.00am to 6.00pm at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Center. Trade visitors have unlimited access to the exhibition, and may register their participation any time during the event.
